"Making Croutons"

Proverbs 17:1 "Better a dry crust with peace and quiet

than a house full of feasting with strife."

This "peace" means "being in a right relationship." Having peace in our hearts, in our homes (relationships) and with God, is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit.

Philippians 4 is my anchor....it helps me to keep a right perspective in life...it shows me what peace looks like and how to have it and keep it.

Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer & petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts & your minds in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:7-9 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me - put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."

Paul says, "Put everything through these 8 filters. If it’s not true, then don’t welcome it. If it’s not noble, if it’s not right, or pure or lovely or admirable or excellent or praiseworthy, don’t let it find a home in your heart. And if you’ll use these filters you’ll have peace with God....which will flow over into all other relationships.
