"Mirror, Mirror on the Wall"

James 1:23-24 "For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was."

Well, the Bible, God's Word, is the only reliable mirror that tells us truthfully what we are like before God. Other mirrors may flatter us, but God's looking glass tells it like it is! James tells us that it gives a perfect reflection and can show us our strengths and our weaknesses. The only problem is, for the mirror to work, we have to get close to it! A forgetful hearer is someone who sees themselves in God’s Mirror, but then goes away and does nothing about it. James is saying...If you see the problem, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT TODAY!

Just finishing the book of Esther I can't help but think of her as I read this passage. We all know that Esther was beautiful, but she wasn't just beautiful on the outside...she was beautiful on the inside too. My mother always told me, "pretty is, as pretty does." Didn't we all see Esther grow more beautiful as she submitted to God's plan for her life.

THE BIBLE IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER MIRROR, bcause it can actually change us! 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

GOD'S MIRROR CAN MAKE US BEAUTIFUL on the inside!

Blessings on your week ladies!
